How exciting is it?! Christmas is less than a month away! Festive lights have been turned on, Winter Wonderland is back. :D Only thing missing is snow.. one must dream of such days.
Okayy.. I'm just trying to make myself self better. I've got a cold, again, in this beautiful season. Before you start thinking "ohhh this is a self pity post", no stop. It's a pick me up post. So universe send me some positive vibes. Give me some lurveee.
On that note, there is one thing that I do to make myself feel that 70% better. It's.. drumroll please... SKINCARE. Winter or colder season skincare routine is key, the harsh weather conditions attack your skin. And it is your face that gets the beating. And with the horrid viruses and bugs going around, your nose and lips are going to need that extra TLC.
So, after I take off my full face of make up and cleanse my skin, (my favourite cleansers will be up on a later post). I first use the Barry M
lip scrub to exfoliate any dry skin off my lips. After this I use either of the 3 toners on my face and neck, Pixi Glow Tonic, The Ordinary Toner, or the Alpha-H Liquid Gold toner. These three toners all have different percentages of Glycolic acid in them, which helps to exfoliate the skin, remove dead skin cells and brighten the skin, and even out skin tones.
I then apply oils. Now don't get scared by this if you have oily or combination skin, applying oils to all skin types has its benefits. I use a combination of The Ordinary cold pressed Rose Hip Oil and Morroccan Argan Oil or the Pixi Rose Blend Oil. These oils help to add extra nourishment to your skin and help with the extra dryness that comes with the cold, wet weather conditions. I love these oils, I notice a big difference and an improvement in my skin texture and appearance. Especially during the colder seasons, as constantly blowing your nose constantly gets a bit sore and dry. Right? And you don't want to walk around with Vaseline or Sudocream around your nose now do you?
To finish off my face, I then apply the BodyShop Vitamin E Night Cream. I've been using the Vitamin E cream for a fair few years, and it is the only night cream that gives me that extra moisture yet doesn't break me out. I can use this night cream all year round, without having to worry about it be too heavy or too light for my skin.
For my eye area, I use the Origins Eye Doctor Moisture care. This is on the more pricey side, but it is one of the creams that suits my sensitive skin. I have very sensitive skin, and during extremely hot or cold weather I get dry and dull skin around my eyes. And this cream aids me in soothing dry skin.
And last but not least my lips. For this I use the Paw Paw Moisturising balm. I've been using this balm for the last 2 years and I don't think I will stop using it now. Every year I always feared my lips getting dry during the colder days, and how my lips would look with liquid lipstick on after a few hours. But with this balm, I don't have to worry about my lips cracking or feeling sore.
That's it from me this week my Beauty Baes, I'm going to wrap this up here. This is my short and sweet skincare routine. Hope this gives you all a little boost if you're feeling a tad ill.
Let me know about your winter skin care routine.
Lots of Love,
Pri xo
