The comeback. Literally.

Baes. It has been a while, indeed. Oh, but there is soooo much to catch up on. Let's begin, shall we?
Chapter 1
Whilst in London the weather has been mastering the art of PMS-ing, the end of September also brought with it the end of Holly Nichols. BUT, just because for Harvey Nichols the change in name was a temporary one, does not mean this is the case for us. We’re sticking with Holly, for life. Why you ask? Well, well.
Numero 1: celebrating the general badassery of women should not be limited to a month.
Secondly, Harvey Weinstein.
Perhaps the transition from happy to rage and disgust should have been smoother. Been watching a lot of crime shows lately, k?! Soz. #power #omgtommynoyoudidnt #ohyashedid
Now, if somehow you managed to successfully avoid the Weinstein scandal then congratulations but we are about to ruin this safe haven for you. Ya welcome. :)
In a nutshell, former film producer, Harvey Weinstein was accused of sexual harassment by a number actresses (the list is l-e-n-g-t-h-y). As you can read about the scandal in your own spare time, let’s talk about the aftermath.
On a happy note, the world came together to show support towards these women through movements such as #MeToo and #TimesUp. The unity shone through in all of its beauty.
At the same time, the Harvey Weinstein scandal (do you see why we are sticking with Holly Nichols?!) proved that many us remain in denial about certain issues. Yes, many of us. We have all been guilty of this.
One of these issues is how common sexual harassment in the workplace continues to be. It may be subtle (although, not always!) but it exists. PS: here is our other post on sexual harassment.
Then there’s blaming the woman (or worse punishing her for speaking out) who was sexually harassed. Some of us love ignoring this topic.
Rose McGowan declared that following her statement about Weinstein she was refused work by Hollywood producers.
We need you to read that sentence again. She was refused work. She was financially penalised for not staying quiet about an experience no one should ever be put through.
We know these issues make people uncomfortable. As evolved human beings we would like to think that this s*** does not take place in today’s society. But in Pharell’s words: “The truth will set you free, but first… It will piss you off.”
Being ignorant makes you an accomplice. If this was murder we were talking about, you wouldn’t ignore the insinuation that you are an accomplice, would you? If you would, then… Hello psycho, welcome to our blog.
Back to the point. There is power in numbers. So, play your part, do something — anything, however small. Lead by example. If you’re a millennial, then it might feel like difference only matters when it’s achieved on a huge scale. Myth.
Change one person’s life, however slightly, and you have made a difference.
Speaking of change… Guess what? In a badass (it’s looking like currently this is our fav word) decision, India’s Supreme Court has ruled that gay sex is no longer a criminal offence. Yaah… it was a CRIMINAL offence to be gay. Stop shouting at the screen now… baby steps, okay! Who knows? Maybe legalising gay marriage is next on the cards? You gotta dream big.
Chapter 2

Where should or should we not start from. Think it would be appropriate to wish Fenty Beauty a Happy Birthday. It has been a year since this breathtaking brand launched its product. Biased as it may sound, we think a lot of the brothers and sisters in the beauty world will support us on this. Hold tight, a review of the products is pending!
Unfortunately we don’t have a clip, but Ilinca and me went to the trusty Holly Nichols that actually stocks Fenty Beauty in the UK. Riri, can you please stock your products in other stores?! #kneelsdownandprays. We both fangirled but Pri took it to a whole new level. #0to100realquick
Over the past year, another brand has taken over social media, and that is the beauty influencer Huda Beauty. As someone who started off as a blogger and built an empire out of her passion, her journey really resonates with us - especially, Pri. #soulmates
Huda Beauty also filmed a reality show called ‘Huda Boss’, which gives an insight into the work and creativity that goes behind the scenes. Again, Pri’s been banging on about how similar to Huda she will be when we create our own products. Eek!
To honour her journey to success, we will soon dedicate a post reviewing her products, orrrrrrr if you’re lucky, a video of us trying out her products. #gobigorgohome
So, 2018 was branded the year of women and what a year it has been! A great example is L’Oreal’s ‘Self Worth’ campaign, which has grown so much throughout the year. Big influencers like the brand ambassador Helen Mirren and bloggers, such as Jordan Bane, Amena and Kaushal Beauty got involved by sharing their life stories and how they changed their ‘self doubt’ to ‘self worth’.
Olay also took to media and teamed up with amazing influencers, such as Lilly Singh aka Superwoman, Jillian Mercado, Denise Bidot and many more to create the ‘Face anything’ campaign. Olay encourages women irrelevant of their background to be bold, and not fearful of being anything ‘too’ much of.
Now, Gentlemen, you may feel that you’re being left out and that this is unfair. But if you read and look into the ad campaign further, you too can take on the positive vibes being delivered. And truth be told, women do have it a ‘teenier and tinier’ bit harder in life than you do. So... b**** please don’t sulk and instead support us.
This is just scratching the surface, as so much more has happened over the past year. From trends such as applying liquid highlighter all over your face before foundation to keeping brows au naturel, it has been a jam packed year! One of the biggest trends and also one of our favouritesss... Is skincare and face masks. Face Masks and Face Sheets are in, boo! It is all about having that baby soft and natural glowing skin. Now, we both need to go through our diaries and Pri’s stock of face sheet masks and note a pamper night date. Girlllll... you in for the 24 carat Gold sheet?! Boy, don’t worry, we got you!
The end (for now)
As for us… nothing much, really. #Lies
We’ve both gone from long ass hair to sassy bobs. We’ve finally discovered Elan Cafe and got our sugar fixes with two slices of cake. EACH. “That’s too much cake” - said no one ever.

Most importantly, we got our grind back! We let our passion slide for a minute, but… baby are we back?! #noexcusesb
Until next time
